The Iron and Railway Museum offers many opportunities to organise a company outing there, or excursions for friends or other groups.
Come and discover a living museum. On the menu are a working forge, rich collections of objects connected with the history of iron and of the railway, films, multi-vision on a gigantic screen, dioramas and an enormous model railway.
We adapt the visits to the requirements of the visitors. We offer guided visits (in French, German, English, Spanish or Italian), but you can also visit the museum freely, without a guide.
There is a reduced price for groups of 12 people or more.
You will have an opportunity to be introduced to forging, by hand-forging a nail with the help of the blacksmith (for which there is an additional charge of CHF 20.- per person; the number of participants is limited). This activity is ideal for team-building.
You will also be able to cast your own medal in the time-honoured way (for an additional charge of CHF 5.- per person).
We also organise aperitifs, either inside the Museum or outside, in the garden bordered by the River Orbe.
Thanks to the fixed price of the visit-plus-meal, you can finish your visit to the Iron and Railway Museum with a good meal, and then visit the other Vallorbian touristic sites!
Vallorbe is ideal for an outing, with its four original touristic sites, each completely different from the others, and all easily accessible on foot. Indeed, as well as the Iron and Railway Museum, you will find here:
Caverns of Vallorbe: http://www.grottesdevallorbe.ch/
The Fort of 1939-1945: http://www.pre-giroud.ch
By spending one night at the Auberge pour tous (http://www.aubergepourtous.ch), one can organise, over two days, a programme which is varied, instructive and relaxing.
